TRAINING FEE:

Participatory GIS and DRM Practices for Disaster & Development:
DRM practices engage local community to explore different aspects of hazard risk and DRM implementation methods, practices, and even cultural changes to contain and reduce the probabilities that a natural hazard will result in a disaster situation. In this training participants will explore the applicability of public participation for mapping community and GIS analysis to enhance their DRM efforts. Participatory Geographic information systems (GIS) methodologies work like any other standard participatory research methods incorporates end users and researchers into a collaborative environment where GIS are structured under the guidance of both the expert and the community members.
